Abito Privacy Policy
Effective 18 October 2026
Abito helps you organise your clothes and see outfits on yourself. Your photos are personal,
so the app is built to keep them on your iPhone unless you choose to use the AI features.
What stays on your iPhone
- Your body photos, clothing photos, closet, outfits, planner and wishlist are stored only on your device.
- Removing backgrounds from clothing photos and checking body photos happen on the device.
- There is no Abito account. We don't collect your name, email address or contacts.
What leaves your iPhone, and only if you allow it
When you turn on AI features (you're asked first, and can turn them off at any time in Profile → Privacy & Data):
- Tagging clothes: a smaller copy of the clothing photo is sent through our server to
Anthropic's Claude to identify the type, colours, formality and seasons.
- Try-on ("See It on Me"): your chosen body photo and the clothing photos are sent through
our server to Google's Gemini models, which create the try-on image and check its quality (for example, that
the clothes are worn properly) before it is returned to your device.
- Adding clothes: each photo you add is checked for one or several items. Items that lie
apart, like clothes laid on a bed, are separated on your iPhone and nothing is sent. Otherwise the photo is
sent through our server to Google's Gemini models, which find the clothes in it.
- Tidy-up: each clothing photo is sent through our server to Google's Gemini models, which
draw a clean product photo of the same piece and check that it matches your photo. Try-ons of pieces you
photographed on their own still use your own photo.
- Outfit ideas: only the text tags of your clothes (for example "navy sweater, smart casual")
are sent through our server to Claude. No photos are sent.
Photos are downsized and their metadata, including location, is removed before they leave your device.
Our server passes them on and does not store them. Anthropic and Google process them under their commercial
terms for paid API customers, which do not use this data to train their models; they may keep requests for a
limited time for security and abuse monitoring.
What our server keeps
- A random ID created when you install the app (not linked to your identity), with counts of how many
requests it made each day, so we can apply fair-use limits.
- Short-lived technical logs (for example, that a request succeeded), without photos or clothing details.
Purchases
Abito Plus subscriptions are handled by Apple. We never see your payment details.
Advertising (free version only)
The free version shows a few ads from Google AdMob: one small banner at the end of the Wishlist, one
sponsored card after Outfit Ideas, and short videos you can choose to watch for an extra try-on or
outfit idea. Abito Plus has no ads.
- Ads are non-personalised: we ask Google not to personalise them, and Abito never
asks to track you, so your device's advertising identifier is not shared.
- To show and measure ads and to prevent fraud, Google's ad software collects some information, such as
your approximate location (from your IP address), device and app information, and how you interact
with the ads. See how Google uses
information from apps that use its services.
- Your photos, closet, outfits and wishlist are never shared with advertisers, and ads
never appear next to your body photos or try-on images.
- In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Google's consent form asks for your choice first. You can change it
any time in Profile → Privacy & Data → Ad Privacy Choices.
Tracking
Abito does not track you across other companies' apps or websites and does not sell your data.

- Cloudflare – hosts our server.
- Anthropic – Claude AI for tagging and outfit ideas.
- Google – Gemini models for try-on, finding clothes in photos and tidy-up.

Your choices
- Turn AI features off at any time; nothing more is sent.
- Use Profile → Privacy & Data → Delete My Data to erase everything Abito has stored on
your device and reset its random ID.
- Deleting the app also removes its data from your device.
Children
Abito is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what is shared, the app will ask for your permission again.
